v7 beta

This version comes with a new web based interface that will do all the things you used to need a computer for:

  • Manage Media on internal SD Card, Up- and Download of files
  • Display all available sound devices and select one
  • View Current Video Connection, and set Presets for Full HD, 4k or NTSC / PAL analog video
  • Edit the script to add features or change behaviour
  • Check Network Interface Status and current IP

Download the beta version (ZIP file 3,89 GB, MD5 Checksum fae50621dcd05a7960868c8fa766540c )

Please keep in mind that it is a beta version, and the webinterface has been designed for functionality, not security. Keep away from public networks 😉

How To Start (Shortest version)

  • Write image to Disk like always, and no changes through RaspImager
  • Boot the Pi and connect to a Computer or Network of Computers
  • Open interface with a web browser via http://mp4museum.local or find out its IP Adress to connect

Apart from that, it is literally the same as v6.

Unfortunatly, the recent version of raspbian legacy lite (which is, in different versions, the basis of all release past) is not compatible with vlc any more. Or maybe it is, but i could not make it work myself (yet).

Then i asked why should i upgrage the OS in the first place? It seems like a good idea to do while it is easy 🙂 But i would not get Pi5 support even with the newest version, and with all the challanges, i prefered to use v6 as a basis for the beta version, so it could be released.
